Desperately hooked on drugs, a 29-year-old housewife allegedly sold her two-year-old baby girl to a teacher for RM5,000 to support her habit.
And when the baby’s grandfather tried to get her back, the teacher was said to have upped the price to RM10,000.
The ex-serviceman, 48, who has lodged a police report, said he and his wife had been taking care of his daughter’s three children for five years.
He said his daughter took the baby from his house in Kampung Permatang Samak, Semeling near here last month.
"I was shocked when I found out she had sold her youngest child to the teacher," he said.
He claimed that the teacher refused to return the baby to the family despite several meetings.
Kuala Muda District police chief Assistant Commissioner Law Hong Soon confirmed that a report had been lodged.
